PAR, LSU to Host Public Meeting Featuring Tax Foundation Members

PAR and the LSU Public Administration Institute are hosting a public event featuring Tax Foundation members on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Members of the public are invited to attend.

This event is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Business Education Complex, the home of the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business. The BEC is located on campus on Nicholson Drive Extension.

The Tax Foundation creates state tax rankings that figure prominently in Governor Bobby Jindal’s tax proposal. This event will give the public an opportunity to receive information and ask questions of the Tax Foundation.

Members of the Tax Foundation who will be present include Economist Scott Drenkard and Vice President of Legal & State Projects and Vice President of Operations Joseph Henchman. The Tax Foundation is a non-partisan tax research group based in Washington, D.C.

The Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana is a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded in 1950. PAR’s mission is to be an independent voice, offering solutions to critical public issues in Louisiana through accurate, objective research and focusing public attention on these solutions.

The Public Administration Institute at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business offers a 42-hour degree program that emphasizes management and financial skills for those leading public agencies, nonprofit and healthcare organizations and for-profit organizations that interact with governmental agencies.
