RESET Louisiana Analyzing Implications of Tax Bills

In response to Gov. Jeff Landry’s plan to call lawmakers into a special session to debate tax reform, RESET Louisiana has hired well-known economist and fiscal expert Greg Albrecht to conduct an independent analysis of the proposals and determine how they would impact taxpayers.

RESET: Infrastructure

Louisiana’s transportation infrastructure should be an asset, not a liability. The state should significantly invest in its transportation infrastructure, including ports and waterways, enhance public safety, relieve congestion in major urban areas and support commerce and economic development.

RESET: Public Safety

Louisiana should create an effective criminal justice system that focuses prison space on thosewho pose a public safety threat and uses evidence-based practices to reduce recidivism.

RESET: Constitution

Louisiana should simplify the state constitution to increase fiscal flexibility,allow improvements to tax and spending policies and modernize state and localrelations.
